Due to growth, they are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior IT Technician to join the dynamic team.
Role Overview:
As a Senior IT Technician, you will provide on-site technical support to our clients. Your responsibilities will include diagnosing and resolving complex IT issues, performing regular maintenance, and ensuring seamless client IT infrastructure operations. Your expertise and top-notch customer service will enhance our reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver on-site technical assistance for hardware and software challenges.
Setup, configure, and troubleshoot IT equipment like desktops, laptops, printers, and network devices.
Conduct routine maintenance and updates to ensure system performance is optimized.
Support network setup and management, including handling switches, routers, and firewalls.
Collaborate with remote teams to swiftly resolve escalated issues.
Keep detailed records of client systems and service activities.
Provide outstanding customer service and foster robust client relationships.
Stay informed about the latest industry trends and technologies.
Qualifications:
Proven track record as a Senior IT Technician / Team Leader or similar capacity.
Extensive knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking principles.
Proficiency in both Windows and MacOS operating systems.
Experience with Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory, and other standard IT applications.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
Minimum 10 years’ experience in an IT MSP environment.
Advanced expertise with Windows Server versions from 2012 R2 to 2022.
Intermediate to advanced skills in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, PKI, etc.
Intermediate experience with VMware vSphere 6.5 or newer.
Intermediate skills with Hyper-V 2012 or later versions.
Solid understanding of IP addressing and subnetting principles.
Basic knowledge of SANs and NAS devices.
Fundamental grasp of VLANs, routing, firewall behaviour, packet shaping, etc.
Comfort working in server rooms/datacentres, handling racking, and cabling tasks.
Familiarity with ITIL framework for structured incident, request, and change management.
Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Professional).
Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and tools.
Certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, Exchange/O365, Veeam, Microsoft Azure.
Physical Requirements:
Valid driver’s license.
South African ID or international passport with a work permit.
Working vehicle.
Proficiency in English.
